  12. well, i take one sick day out of work
  13. and come back to find a major f*cking coup
  14. on my hands.  you southerners just can't
  15. be trusted can you? no wonder we wupped
  16. ya in the civil war.  sheesh.

  18. i am voting for portland, obviously,
  19. since i'll be living out there.
  20. plus, the idea of "tar-and-featherbake"
  21. appeals not to me. i always end up being
  22. the target at theme parties like that.

  24. and for those of you who think there
  25. is nothing to do in Portland, those
  26. of you who think it will be boring and
  27. rainy, well, then, you don't deserve
  28. to appreciate the beauty that is
  29. the pacific northwest.  The summer
  30. is absolutely gorgeous, lush and green
  31. and warm, but not hot.  The Columbia River
  32. Gourge, and the Hood River,all close, The pacific ocean
  33. is about an hour+ away, the mountains are
  34. less than 45 minutes away.  Portland has one of
  35. the largest International Rose Testing Gardens,
  36. most of which should be in full bloom in July.
  37. There is music downtown in Pioneer square every
  38. day, as well as free concerts all over the place.
  39. There's a zoo, and a japanese garden on one of the
  40. highest points in Portland.

  42. The microbrew rules. (need more be said?)

  44. Portland has also initiated the 2% for art (or is it 3%?)
  45. All the buildings have to put 2% of their operating budget
  46. towards artistic endeavors (on or in their buildings)
  47.  
  48. There's is more than enough to do in Portland.

  50. I just received some mail from Carol, asking me how i'm
  51. doing with my bed and breakfast thing: its still getting compiled,
  52. but i'm gonna quit until you all make a decision.
