  20. Hai, dozo, Karen. Portland holds few <charms>, all I can say. If we're
  21. gonna do West Coast, let's do SF. But again, we run into the fact that
  22. only a small contingent of Wordslers would find that venue convenient or
  23. doable. NC is hardly hot in the summer, unless you call temperatures in
  24. the 80's hot. If you want heat to complain about, let's have it in
  25. Austin--there is no hotter oven in hell than Austin in the summer. As for
  26. humidity, come to Edinburg...we have 96%RH from April to November--my skin
  27. get so dependent on atmospheric moisture that the first few days I spend
  28. out of the Valley I shed scale like a fish. No, NC, or any other beautiful
  29. place on the eastern seaboard is far likelier to give people a chance to
  30. come. Boston is also likely to produce a good turnout.

  34. And yes, to hope for another Providence-like idyll with gracious hostesses
  35. and overrunning bathrooms is probably too much. But that's just me, ever
  36. the dreamer.
