  14. My friend Jaqueline Damboise had her booklaunching party at Robarts Library.
  15. (My car was encased in a thick mantle of ice after the party.)
  16. At the party I met a carpenter (Steve? Dave?) who was leaving for Zihuatenero,
  17. Mexico the following day, for the remainder of the winter.  I asked him for
  18. his address just in case I might drop in on him.  I had never been to Mexico
  19. but the blizzard made it sound awfully good.  Two weeks later I knocked
  20. on his door ...

  22. I ended up staying at little cottage in the same garden where he was living.
  23. I really enjoyed getting up in the morning and picking a ripe papaya and a
  24. lime off their trees for breakfast.  And then there were the five beaches.
