  12. I sense from some of the morning messages that Portland, City of Roses has
  13. fallen into disfavor, at least as a site for List Gathering 1993.  Before
  14. irrevocable decisions are made, or unrecallable words uttered, let me list
  15. some of the consequences of changing the site.  (Bear in mind that I am
  16. one of those who would attend even if the 5th Circle of Hell were the
  17. locus, so I have no personal stake here.)
  18.  
  19. 1)  Neal Traven will be absolutely devastated when he resets mail.
  20.  
  21. 2)  Judith can travel to the PNW at any time, for she has progeny there.
  22.  
  23. 3)  Dan, Chris, and Peter are remarkably close, not to mention the
  24.     Portlanders themselves -- Clint and Carol.  Who am I forgetting?
  25.  
  26. 4)  All of California is within a drive or a short flight.  Emily has
  27.     spoken of riding the train to Portland; indeed, she may have taken
  28.     concrete steps toward this goal.
  29.  
  30. 5)  If organizational zeal is wanting, think:  Jenna and Pea are moving
  31.     out there this spring.  Jenna knows how to crack the whip.
  32.  
  33. 6 - 10) These additional points are currently in inactive memory.
