- Greetings,
-
- Please note that I imputed library amateurism to *most* wordslingers, but
- by no means all. I saw nothing to challenge this presumption in the
- responses. Indeed, if other discussions displayed the same degree of
- perspicacity, the list would be in a sorry state indeed.
-
- I voted for the Portland site. Nevertheless, well-intentioned as our laid-
- back western subscribers are, I must agree there has been little evidence
- of a substantial organizational commitment (not that anyone is likely to
- meet the high standards set last year by that heroic Rhode Island team!).
-
- I would certainly look favorable on a North Carolina site. My spousal unit
- and I often rent a house on the Outer Banks. We usually do this during the
- off-season, but that would be problematic for teaching faculty. Even so,
- I wonder whether anyone would like to piggy-back a week at a big house in,
- say, Avon, which is south of Nag's Head, during the week following the
- Words-l Tarheel expedition? Many of the rental units allow pets and
- accomodate up to 8-12 people comfortably. It's just a thought, but
- the Outer Banks is a nice vacation spot, and would be an easy drive from
- a words-l site in eastern or central NC.
