- Subject: Acceptable Use Policy for NSFNET Backbone Internet
- Lines: 10
-
- The current issue of _The Chronicle of Higher Education_ carries an
- interesting article about acceptable use of Internet, especially when
- the NSFNET backbone (I gather there is really no way of knowing) is
- used. Unacceptable is "Extensive use for private or personal business"!
- But the director of the division "acknowledges that the NSF is not likely
- to start shutting off access to the Internet if it finds that someone has
- been using it to send a love note in the form of electronic mail." He says,
- "By and large I'm a pretty liberal guy, because I think that people should
- use computers in ways that make them comfortable with computers." Comforting!
