- Well, I got the cable that connects the Vaxstation monitor and keyboard
- together, and now I'm installing OS/2 on it. Boy, these weird little icons
- and pictures are a DRAG (and drop). As soon as I get the OS/2 warez up, I
- am gonna put on FSP and a hacked version of fingerd that I happen to know
- about and see how many Wordslers finger me. Next, I'll install a copy of
- the Angelou poem and put 'more maya' in eveyone's .login. The OS/2 will
- serve as a windowing interface for the real presentation layer, which will
- be a beta of Windows NT running in the OS/2 DOS compatability box. I hope
- to chain an Amiga 4000 to the slip line to offload icon painting, plus the
- Amiga's ability to emulate a Mac will keep the office users happy--we'll
- be able to run 12 simultaneous sessions of Excel 4.0 and do recalcs by
- executing a simple macro that throws the math directly into the
- Vaxstation's DMA, saving picoseconds per instruction! Once I've managed to
- get System V UNIX(tm) running on the Amiga, we'll throw all our
- development efforts into hacking together a NNTP server that runs under
- OS/2-Win NT, and I think we can spawn a process that runs Win For
- Workgroups 3.1 without TOO much effort. The WFW will be responsible for
- serving X Windows, naturally.
-
- OSF? I laugh you to scorn!
