  11. Here's the problem.  I just installed the new 3.0 version of Farallon's
  12. PhoneNet software on my tiny AppleTalk network.  Everything seems to work
  13. fine until I close a document--any document, on any drive--from within Word
  14. for Windows 2.0.  Then I'm immediately returned to the DOS prompt. Not only
  15. has Word quit, but all running Windows processes have quit and Windows 3.1
  16. itself has quit--with no error messages appearing whatever.

  18. I'm running over DOS 5.0 on a Zeos 486-33 with 8MB RAM. I've got an old
  19. AppleTalk PC card installed (which worked fine with the previous version of
  20. PhoneNet). I usually run a few TSR's, but disabling them didn't affect the
  21. problem. I've assigned my networked printer to different ports under
  22. PhoneNet (printing works fine on all of them with the new software).
  23. There's no question the problem is directly related to PhoneNet--when I
  24. disable PhoneNet, everything works; when I run any of the PhoneNet batch
  25. files from DOS and reenter Windows, the problem then shows up.

  27. Aside from the AppleTalk card, I've got an IN-2000 SCSI card installed and
  28. a card that adds COM3 and COM4 and LPT2 to the usual two serial and one
  29. parallel ports included in the system. I don't see how any of these could
  30. cause simply closing an open document in Word to abort everything and
  31. return me to DOS!
