- Dear networkers,
-
- I have some problems with my WINDOWS and perhaps you can help me.
- First, I have found problems to type Brazilian characters - "cedilha", cha-
- racters with accent and with ~ - when I run word-processors in Windows
- (for example, MS-Works for Windows). The funny thing is that I can type
- such characters when I run a word-processor (such as WordPerfect) in the
- MS-DOS (for I customized monitor, keyboard and printer to do this job).
- I suppose that the arrangements I made in my MS-DOS are not automatically
- transferred to my Windows.
- Do you know how can I solve this problem?
- The second problem is related to my printer. My printer is a Raven RP-9105
- and again it works very well when I run a word-processor in my MS-DOS. For
- example when I want to print a WordPerfect document with a "draft" quality,
- I find no problem. But when I want to print a "draft" quality document with
- MS-Works in WINDOWS, it doesn't work, for the outcome is always a "high qua-
- lity" printing. I think it is so because I couldn't set up the RP-9105 dri-
- ver in my WINDOWS as I did in my WordPerfect. So, I had to set up a printer
- driver (Epson FX-850) that was included in the printer setup list of my
- WINDOWS, which I supposed was at least compatible with my Raven. But it
- has not worked.
- Do you have an idea of why my WINDOWS refuses to set up a driver which is
- not included in its setup list?
- I would appreciate any suggestion.
