- It looks like I'll be fortunate enough to be spending about 2 1/2 months
- in Yellowstone this summer. I'll be working (reservations), but will have
- time to travel (not too far though). I've been there many times, but
- haven't done other things, like Frontier Days in Cheyenne (I think).
- What's this like? What else should I try to do? I'm so excited, I've
- been packing things since the day I got home from there last August. I
- hope that I'll be living in my own 25' trailer and will be in either
- Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone or Gardiner, MT. I love to go on
- the Beartooth Pass and will drive that as often as possible and would
- also like to take the side road going off of the Pass, can't think of
- the name, but it is supposed to be the scenic view. It's called
- St. Joseph's or Joseph's something or other. It's named after some
- Indian chief. Anyone been that way? I thought maybe I could make
- that a two day trip. Does anyone know a nice place to stay that isn't
- too expensive (I guess most motels are not expensive out there).
-
- If anyone is going to be in that area (Yellowstone) this summer, let
- me know and perhaps we could meet. If you have never been there, I
- would love to show you around. Of course you don't need anyone to
- show you Yellowstone, but I think I do know some of the better places
- and times to see wildlife. I could sit and watch the "buffalo roam" for
- hours and in fact, I have. I've seen black bear and grizzly, but not
- too close thank goodness. Of course, I've seen most other wildlife in
- Yellowstone. This past year, I saw more calfs (young) of all the
- animals than I've ever seen before. I also say more cayote than ever
- before. I love Montana and Wyoming, especially the Rocky Mountains.
-
- Thanks in advance for any new information regarding happenings out
- west in the summer (I'll be there from the end of May until the first
- week in August).
-
- I also have a friend in North Dakota that I may visit on my way out,
- if I can go that much out of the way with my trailer.
-
- Something else I might mention. I hope to be able to take my
- 25' trailer to Yellowstone, but I don't have a vehicle heavy
- enough to tow a 25' Airstream (it's 20 years old). If you have
- a vehicle that could do this and would like a trip to Yellowstone,
- I'll pay for gas and food out and give you $100 for gas home.
- You could stay for awhile in my trailer if you like and we would
- stay in the trailer on the way out. My brother from California
- might come here and pull it for me and my husband will probably
- go out with us. I'm just trying to find other possibilities for
- getting my trailer there and I also might need someone to pull it
- home for me the first or second week in August. I figure if I have
- to I will store it out there for the winter and the next year I will
- have my own van to bring it home.
- I'll give you references and would
- ask the same of you.
-
- Thank you one and all for anything you can add!
