- Dear all:
-
- Writing to files.
-
- I have an apparent problem with Toolbook using Novell.
-
- As part of a course assessment program, I need to have students write
- to a file, but be unable to see the file. Simply hiding the file
- using DOS attributes will not suffice. I have attempted to do this by
- having the files written to a directory on which the following rights
- are set:
- Write; Read; Create; Erase; Modify: i.e. omitting Filescan.
-
- Toolbook is programmed to write to the file using the usual
- CreateFile, WriteFile sequence.
-
- The result is that Toolbook creates a file in the Directory ok, but
- fails to write to it: the file is of zero length.
-
- A Pascal program will however, write to the file OK.
-
- Has anyone observed anything like this?
