- To All on the list:
-
- We had an incident in Canada last year where a professor who felt he
- was being desperately and woefully wronged by faculty and
- administration at his university sent out Please Help! messages to all
- sorts of mailing lists, before taking violent actions against the
- people in question.
-
- Since the email subject Please Help! might connote such a letter of
- desparation, and such letters topics
- frighten the daylights out of me,
- because of my general response to cries for help, I would like to
- suggest that such letter topics be avoided. Besides, a more specific
- topic, e.g. Problem with X makes scanning mail much easier.
-
- Sincerely,
-
- DM
