- My fellow recipients of Slovak-L,
- I would like to thank George Frajkor for the information he has
- recently supplied, but especially for reminding all of us that whatever are
- views and however strongly we fell them does not allow us to be DISRESPECTFUL
- of another person and that we should be aware that our views however
- passionately felt and believed to be ocrrect can also be viewed by others as
- OUR PREJUDICES. I have been on this listing only s short two weeks and have
- enjoyed the "conversations" immensely. However, I think that a professional,
- thinking, scholarly group should be much more tolerant ans sensitive to others.
- I recall that the late Pope John XXIII once said that he could not accpet the
- ideology of communism but could readily and whole heartily welcome and accept a
- communist who is first of all a human being. Such an attitude inspired Pier
- Paolo Pasolini--a convinced Marxist--to produce and direct the film "The Gospel
- according to St. Matthew" in honor of John XXIII.
- Again, I thank everyone for making this listing such an intersting
- experience. And please continue the discussion but in a civil and professional
- manner. We will all profit.
