- Well, I did say "dissident of sorts, although still a Communist." The facts are
- that Mrs. Svermova was indeed a Stalinist of the first order in the 40's and
- early 50's, but got caught in the Communist party's purges in the 50's, spent
- some years in jail, supported Dubcek, and later signed Charter 77.
