  13. Peace Corps has been doing instruction + immersion for many years.
  14. Of course, we need to note that a good many study abroad programs these
  15. days (always?) are a chance to vacation in a quaint setting, and
  16. the language that is acquired depends upon what the students do to
  17. have a good time.  A truly valuable program requires a great deal of
  18. time, careful planning, and working with individual learners or very
  19. small groups.
