- A new version of LISTSERV is now in the testing stage. One of the
- new features is the ability to set "topics" in the subject line and
- this then is used to determine what you see. For instance, if
- a topic is "SG" and you had set your subscription to SG, you would
- only receive only those msgs. that have the SG (for Singapore) in
- the subject line.
- Of course, if you change nothing, you won't see any change at
- all--you'll still get all the msgs. and they are all still archived.
- So, the question before SEASIA-L is what topics to use. Up to
- 11 can be specified. From various comments, it looks like a
- geographical division might be best:
- HK ID MM MY PH SG TH VN (to include Cambodia and Laos) and SEA
- (for general Southeast Asian topics).
- If none of the assigned topics was in the subject line, the
- msg would be sent to everybody who had set "all" or "other."
- Comments are requested, esp. from librarians and others who
- have experience in classifying.
