- I am wanting to do my thesis in Rhet/Comp, I have a paper to write for my 19th
- C Brit Seminar, I have a paper to write for my Renaissance course...and
- probably a couple of papers to write in the 20th C Amer course and the
- Shakespeare course I will be taking next quarter. The construction of the self
- by different writers at different periods would seem to be a theme that I could
- research thoroughly, and thereby generate material for various papers.
-
- To get to my point, I am hoping that you can point me in the direction of some
- useful volumes on this subject. A general work on this subject, or one
- specific to 17th, 18th or 19th C England would be very helpful.
-
- I think Dickens _David_Copperfield_ would make splendid material for talking
- about the self, don't you? I mean, the autobiographical nature of it and
- all...
-
- Grateful for your assistance, I am
-
- Ever your friend,
- Dennis
