  17. Very thought provoking post.
  18. We have asked kids in the past to tell us how much their parents make.  For
  19. this we get a 20% "don't know" rate (that's losing a lot of good data there).
  20. We've also asked them to write in their parent's job, but this too gets a
  21. lot of lost responses, since many kids know where their parents work
  22. (e.g., Mc Donald's, Payne-Webber), but they don't know what their parent's
  23. actual job IS (also, this is a small grant and we don't have the funds
  24. to cover the time it would take to code all 900 responses by hand...).
