  37. The main purpose of The PSYCGRAD Project is two-fold.  The first is
  38. to provide a standard of communication among psychology graduate
  39. students.  The second is to publish, from the graduate student
  40. perspective, professional articles in the field of psychology.
  41.  
  42. COMMUNICATIONS
  43. Graduate students in psychology from around the world communicate
  44. daily through The PSYCGRAD Project.  One of the main purposes of
  45. this project is to provide a network through which graduate students
  46. in the field of psychology can communicate freely, professionally,
  47. and efficiently.

  49. We share our views, exchange references, debate, announce job
  50. openings, get group discounts on software, locate old colleagues,
  51. exchange conference information, organize get-togethers at
  52. conferences, share techniques, compare schools, maintain a
  53. directory of subscribers, maintain a database of past discussions,
  54. and whatever else we can get our minds on.

  56. The project can now be considered well established as a standard of
  57. communication among psychology graduate students.  Currently, we
  58. are a group of over 400 graduate students spanning over 14
  59. different countries.  No other mode of communication is as widely
  60. used among graduate students on a daily basis.

  62. DAILY COMMUNICATION: (for graduate students in psychology)
  63. Subscribe to PSYCGRAD if you wish to receive the postings immediately.
  64. Subscribe to PSYGRD-D if you wish to receive a digest form of PSYCGRAD.
  65. Please do not subscribe to both.  Choose one or the other.  They are
  66. only different in form, not content.  If you are using the NETNEWS
  67. gateway, please subscribe and set your mail option to NOMAIL.  We
  68. like to keep track of how many people use the system.

  71. The Psychology Graduate Student Journal: The PSYCGRAD Journal.
  72. Subscribe to PSYGRD-J if you are interested in receiving a journal
  73. written by graduate students in the field of psychology.  There is no
  74. current publication schedule.  All submissions here will be subject
  75. to the editing process.  Subscriptions are open to the public.

  77. The project consists of four parts, PSYCGRAD, PSYGRD-D, PSYGRD-J, and
  78. bit.listserv.psycgrad.
