  24. Larry, the relevance of the results were completely irrelevant to the
  25. discussion at hand (*er-hem*).  The relevance of the method was targeted
  26. at the issue of ethical treatment of subjects.  The question is, do we
  27. have the right, as researchers, to invade the privacy of others without
  28. asking for their consent.  What constitutes an invasion
  29. privacy?  This is the relevant issue here, not the results of the study.
  30. Perhaps in another discussion the results could be put in question.

  32. Relevance is relative only to some target objective.  The egg-cracking
  33. method of left-handers may be completely irrelevant if your objective is
  34. to study their probability of success.  However, it may be very relevant
  35. if you are trying to teach a left-handed egg-cracker how to make an
  36. omelet.
