- My remarks regarding tribal behavior and eurocentric psychoanalytic theory
- were very much off the cuff. I have thopght some more about the tribal part
- however. As I recall, Kohlberg's theory of Moral Development identifies his
- third (of six) stage as being "tribal", wherein behavior is designed to fit in
- and win approval of the immediate group. This is a diferent (lower) level than
- mainstream USA and may point to why gang behavior is seen as inherently amoral/
- immoral.
