  17. Think what you will about Al D'Amato, but I give him high marks for
  18. taking such a strong and visible position on the lifting of the ban
  19. on homosexuals in the military.  I heard him on the radio this morning
  20. expanding on his remarks of the other day and I think that he's right
  21. on with this issue and that he'll take a lot of criticism from the
  22. far right of the G.O.P. for this one, and I admire him, whatever his
  23. motivations, for sticking to his position.
