- We are considering various FAX solutions for the campus e-mail network. The
- problem that we have with most of them is handling inbound FAXs. Several
- PC FAX vendors support the use of Direct Inward Dialing (DID), usually via an
- EXACOM DID module. The DID module passes to the FAX server the "actual" phone
- number that was dialed. The server then uses this to route the FAX to the
- correct e-mail user. This solution is fine except that it does not address all
- possible e-mail systems on campus and the cost for some of the PC software is
- very high.
-
- Is there any way to currently use a DID type line with PMDF-FAX, or are there
- plans for such. We like the way PMDF-FAX works but dont want to have to someone
- there to manually route the incoming FAXs.
-
- Thanks
