  24. This seem to be a frequently asked question, so I'll send this to the entire
  25. list.

  27. The PMDF SMTP server works just fine with DEC TCP/IP Services V2.0.  No
  28. changes are required.  The problem is that you must shutdown DEC's SMTP
  29. server because the two servers cannot listen on the same port number.

  31. The commands in the UCX Management Utility are:

  33.     $ ucx
  34.     UCX> disable service smtp
  35.     UCX> set noservice smtp
  36.  
  37. This shuts down DEC's SMTP server and allows our server to run.  Remember
  38. that you must start our server with:

  40.     $ @pmdf_root:[exe]start_ucx_smtpd
  41.  
  42. You should only need to disable the DEC SMTP service once -- it should be
  43. remembered across reboots.  Of course you need to run START_UCX_SMTPD.COM
  44. during your system startup just like always.

  46. The next release of PMDF supports defining our server as a UCX service if
  47. you choose.  You can also continue to do it the way you do now.
