- No question that quality has suffered in many cases by rqeuiring
- authors to be their own typists and type setters. the energy devoted to
- proofreading has been dissipated into other chores and frustrating
- exercises. the up side is that we who deal with critical texts which
- printers always botched when producing scientific apparatuses -- can
- get more accurate texts in dealing with a variety of languages. Too bad
- NB does not offer a proper vertical bar for these apparatuses or notes
- that continue horizontally rather than vertically.

- When i worked with pencil, typist and printer-- i was more productive.
- I didnt waste time playing with software-- and reading NB e-mail list.
- not that it is a waste of time-- but you know what i mean. i do not
- think this is healthy progress-- but that how things are. Those days i
- am afraid are gone.
