- It IS necessary that the new items do not to have similar ID
- numbers (R#:NNNN) as have old items that you want to save.
- Otherwise the new R#:3333 AU:Smith etc will replace the old
- R#:3333 AU:Jones in your bibliographies, at least when generated
- with the help of Extract and a file which contains an X6 delta
- that has <tab>3333 as its last element. The next clean-up
- ("Maintain/rewrite data files...") will also physically delete all
- but the last item bearing this number. I've seen both things
- happen.

- I now 'manually' start such separate nbbib.dat files with an
- unused R#: number (and merge them with the master files before the
- number range is used, hopefully). Didn't think of deleting those
- numbers, but that might be a more flexible solution for many
- cases. Thanks!
