- Usage statistics for CD-ROM database searching might be "easier" to capture
- if we stopped trying to capture each and every search performed. If we
- picked out days, hours, workstations, and databases by random sampling, then
- we might be able to select a "user-unfriendly" strategy like forcing an
- automatic re-start after 1 minute where no keys are pressed. If we did this
- we could insist on a menued log-in which would collect desired data. Most
- users won't complain if they need to log in once in a random while, but if
- they had to do it each and every time they searched, they would have every
- right to "rock the boat."
