  13. Usage statistics for CD-ROM database searching might be "easier" to capture
  14. if we stopped trying to capture each and every search performed.  If we
  15. picked out days, hours, workstations, and databases by random sampling, then
  16. we might be able to select a "user-unfriendly" strategy like forcing an
  17. automatic re-start after 1 minute where no keys are pressed.  If we did this
  18. we could insist on a menued log-in which would collect desired data.  Most
  19. users won't complain if they need to log in once in a random while, but if
  20. they had to do it each and every time they searched, they would have every
  21. right to "rock the boat."
