  12.      Here, at the Columbia University Health Sciences Library, we
  13. are considering a shift from a single Collection Development
  14. Librarian for monographic selection, to a system using part-time
  15. selectors or subject specialists (probably taken from the
  16. Reference librarians). We are a large library, serving as the
  17. library for the Presbyterian Hospital, as well as for four
  18. schools - medicine, dentistry, nursing, and public health. Our
  19. primary user population is upwards of 6,000, and last year we
  20. added 4,900 monographs to our collection.

  22.      If any of you have had experience with such a structural
  23. reorganization (or are using a multi-selector system now), I
  24. would appreciate hearing of your experiences, problems
  25. encountered, structure used, etc.
