- Actually using metallic shields to contain electro-magnetic fields for
- sensitive magnetic equipment from electromagnetic devices such as
- Monitors is a very common solution. Since you can't quite shield the
- security system (it will become useless if you did), you have to shield
- all "other" sources of field so that they don't confuse the system. The
- original message I beleive started with a new "power" system? A first
- level solution might be to put a line conditioner on the power supply to
- the security system. Next solution would be to try two metallic
- partitions (stand alone type) on either side of the security system,
- placed on the outside.

- Incidentally, for the same reasons mentioned under this discussion, you
- should not place your floppies on Monitors, big screen TVs either.
