- Being a veteran of this particular CML program, I can add:
-
- The Clinical Medical Librarian (CML) program at Hartford Hospital is
- one where the librarians are full-time CMLs and are considered a part
- of the patient care teams in the departments to which they are assigned
- (Surgery, Medicine, and Pediatrics). The CMLs work alongside the
- physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers. Going on rounds
- is just one part of the CMLs area of service; Important patient care
- and teaching conferences are also attended.
-
- A symposium on CMLs was held at the MLA Annual Meeting last May in
- Washington, DC, moderated by Gertrude Lamb. A number of papers about
- current CML programs were presented. Dr. Lamb retired from her
- position at Hartford Hospital about one year ago. The CML program
- is now directed by Janie Kaplan.
