  11. This message is addressed to any library with a 3M tattle-tape security system
  12. over two years old.  Our system was installed in 1986 and operated till now
  13. with no problems.  Recently the lighting system in our building was upgraded
  14. with electronic ballasts and high efficiency bulbs, a situation that has
  15. adversely affected the security system electronics.

  17. Attempts to correct this situation by guilding and electronic engineers here
  18. at M.D. Anderson have not been successful.  The vendor has not been helpful or
  19. shown any interest in helping us find a solution.  I would appreciate hearing
  20. from any of you who might have experienced this situation.  Please address
  21. your comments to me at the address below.  If there is interest I will
  22. summarize the comments.
