  13. TECHNICAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN, Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library,
  14. Yale University, Minimum rank: Librarian II. RESPONSIBILITIES:  Manages the
  15. monograph and serials acquisitions operations in the Medical Library and
  16. coordinates cataloging activities and work flow with Head of Medical
  17. Cataloging.  Supervises staff.  Assists in identifying, selecting and
  18. establishing business relationships with publishers and vendors.  Monitors
  19. expenditures.  May perform original cataloging.  QUALIFICATIONS; MLS from an
  20. ALA-accredited library school.  At least two years of successful professional
  21. library experience in technical services; effective oral and written
  22. communication skills; organizational ability; strong interpersonal skills and
  23. ability to work with others; supervisory experience; ability to analyze and
  24. evaluate operations and services and to effectively plan and manage appropriate
  25. changes; reading knowledge of at least one European language; experience with
  26. PC based library applications and at least one automated library system.
  27. SALARY; from a minimum of $32,700 dependent upon qualifications and experience.
