- I've heard that in some hospitals in America, librarians were doing rounds
- with the doctors. The librarians would then supposedly do an online
- search to retrieve the latest information on the illnesses that the
- patients were suffering, or on potential treatments. This was briefly
- mentioned at a medical training course that I attended last year, run by
- the medical branch of the Australian Library Association. Can anyone
- confirm whether this practice is being followed? I would particularly like
- to hear from anyone who does participate in this sort of proactive support.
