- In response to you survey question, there are several thing I would miss
- if I had to give up CAI. I have come to depend on synchronous
- conferencing as an integral part of class discussion, and I don't know how
- it could be replaced. Traditional class discussion has been enormously
- enhanced by the use of synchronous online discussion.
-
- The part of CAI that I would be least willing to give up, however, is the
- connection to colleagues all over the world. Even though this is indirectly
- linked to actual CAI, I would dread giving the access to all the minds I
- am linked to. All of the information, research, enthusiasm, strategies, and
- personal experiences avavilable through BITNET and INTERNET links would
- impossible to replicate expecially for those of us who are at small
- universities in geographically distant locations.
