- Could someone be kind enough to help me with a reference I can't
- locate. I *think* I remember Fredric Jameson somewhere saying
- that Dos Passos and Dreiser are the two great and neglected modern
- American novelists. I've tried all the obvious places in Jameson's
- works (though the indexes are not always thorough). Does anyone know
- what I'm thinking of (or whether it was someone else that I'm
- confusing with Jameson)? (These irritating academic memory lapses
- are probably worth studying--and I'm sure someone has done one).
