  13. I believe that Mona Van Duyn, rather than Maya Angelou, is the current Poet
  14. Laureate--I read a newspaper article that mentioned that Van Duyn was also
  15. writing a poem for the inauguration, just for the hell of it. Since the US's
  16. Laureateship is a 1-yr position, however, Angelou would be a natural next
  17. choice.
  18. Britain's Poet Laureate is not Derek Walcott, who spends most of his time away
  19. from the Caribbean here in Boston; it is Ted Hughes, widower of Sylvia Plath,
  20. and I must say that he's borne the stress of ungrateful commissions better than
  21. most.
