- To the people interested in bibliotherapy:
-
- For two years I was president of the South Carolina Bibliotherapy
- Association. That group is now inactive, but when it did function, we ob-
- served some nice work being done, especially with aging populations. I can
- also report that lots of bibliotherapy, therapeutic and developmental, is
- practiced by the unlicensed. Last I knew, St. Elizabeth's Hospital, a public
- hospital in the D.C. area, was the east coast's only site for official
- training and the program required a two year commitment. I have no formal
- training except for a few workshops conducted by licensed BT'pists, yet I
- have done some training myself. I guess that's scary. R. Rubin is a writer
- whose works interested parties should consult. There has been, and may still
- be an ALA BT Discussion Group. I once belonged. Good luck in your study.
