  19. I play on the Internet often.  Daily weather, the OED, the CIA Factbook
  20. -- I use them, but I lose them.  The paths to get there change sometimes
  21. and it is really embarrassing to go to show someone something and it
  22. isn't there.  Or it's there and the site is down or changing
  23. configuration and you can't access when you need it.  I've been told,
  24. too, to FTP during off-peak hours.  I can't answer the 9 am question if
  25. I'm not supposed to access the information til after 5 pm.  That's my
  26. end of it.

  28. On the other end, there are faculty who do not care to even play with
  29. Internet sources much less use them when I suggest it.  And students are
  30. often scared/uninterested/too busy to learn.  Lack of cooperation is
  31. frustrating.

  33. It wouldn't hurt if we had a terminal we could access Internet sources
  34. from easily.  Terminals we have, but they are usually busy with other
  35. traffic.

  37. I will use Internet sources more when the information services at
  38. various places make it more stable and even perhaps a little easier to
  39. use.  A common command format would be helpful, too.  (Do I 'q' to quit
  40. a screen or 'u' or 'page up' or...?)  And my printer dies every time I
  41. try to print an FTP'd file.  Argh!

  43. I'm not phobic.  I just do not always have time to work around as many
  44. hurdles as there are now.  As things improve, my using the sources will
  45. increase.  And I suspect the same will be true of many of my colleagues.
