- I do have such a package, it's called Xtelnet ("X" for experimental)
- currently it requires TCPIP v2.2.x, C/370 v2.1 and ISPF 3.x... though
- it could be hacked for lesser environments. Contact me privately for
- obtaining the package.
-
- Xtelnet is a general telnet client supporting vt100/3270 terminals
- types, general data logging/capture facilities and a host of other
- features... it does a credible job in emulating vt100 terminals but
- *is* no replacement for a real workstation or an ascii terminal, there's
- only so much one can do to make old 3270 terminals behave as full-duplex
- character oriented devices. It was designed in support of library users
- needing to access the numerous online-library catalogs on the Internet,
- some folks, however, are using it to connect to Unix systems and run
- things like vi, emacs, rn, etc., albeit with fatiguing discomfort.

- P.S. The folks at Notre Dame University have managed to port the
- Xtelnet package to Interlink's tcp/ip product environment.
