  12. The student edition of Maple V for the Amiga is currently in the
  13. initial discussion stages, and we do not have any definite release
  14. dates at this time.  The best that I can do about describing this
  15. future (potential) package is to send you the current information
  16. about the student editions for the DOS and Macintosh platforms,
  17. which this is likely to be modelled after.

  28. available for the Macintosh and 386/DOS platforms.

  30. The student version of Maple for the 386/DOS platform can run under
  31. windows, but does not support the full windows implementation.

  58. Brooks/Cole Publishing Co. are selling a version of Maple V produced
  59. exclusively for students.  This student version of Maple V will contain much of
  60. the power of Maple V, but its main intent is to provide the necessary tools to
  61. supplement first and second year mathematics courses.
  62.  
  63. The Student Edition of Maple V contains features allowing for
  64. accurate symbolic, numeric, and graphic results. This version does not
  65. contain all of the packages found in the full implementation of Maple
  66. V, and runs slightly slower than the full edition (due to disk space
  67. compression algorithms).  It is a powerful computer algebra system that
  68. will provide students with a strong mathematical aid for their studies.

  70. Smaller than the full version of Maple V, the Student Edition will use
  71. 4Mb of disk space and 2Mb or more of RAM, and is intended for use on a
  72. Macintosh or 386/486 DOS based machine, with or without a coprocessor.

  74. The Maple V:  Student Edition will consist of the software, an
  75. installation booklet, and "The Maple V Flight Manual" by
  76. Ellis, Lodi, Johnson, and Schwalbe.  This 180 page guide introduces the
  77. user to Maple V through tutorials in precalculus, calculus, linear
  78. algebra, and differential equations.  A complete on-line help and
  79. reference system is provided for easy access to information about
  80. available Maple V functions.

  82. The Algebra Engine and Language Interpreter (Kernel), the Online Help
  83. System, Libraries, and many packages (including Linear Algebra, Number
  84. Theory, Orthogonal Polynomials, Graphics Package, Linear Optimization,
  85. Statistics, ODE computations and graphs, and Student Calculus) are
  86. the same in both the Student and Professional editions of Maple V.
  87. However, the following packages are not included with the Student Edition:
