- I cannot give you any info on the A590, but you mentioned that you
- were in search of "the best Hard Drive buy". I suggest that you take a
- gander at the GVP HD8+ Series II. It slots straight on to the side of your
- Amiga A500, in the expansion port. With DMA (Direct Memory Access) it uses
- minimal amounts of time of the processor and can shift 1.17 MBytes of data
- per second. Watch those programs load in! Up to 8 MBytes of memory and a
- 286 PC emulator can also be added in to the hard drive with minimal fuss.
-
- The drive should typically cost you about 349.99 pounds Sterling
- with the add-ons costing about 30.00 pounds for 1 MByte of SIMM (Single
- In-line Memory Module - that's memory to you and me) and about 250.00 pounds
- for the 286 emulator.
-
- I have had my HD for over a year now, and it has only given me
- one problem - the power pack wasn't powerful enough. Once it was changed
- the drive has performed brilliantly ever since.
-
- Hope that this is of some help.
