- My experience living and working in Germany in 1982-83: when in a country too
- small to have dubbed American TV programs (e.g., Holland or Denmark) talking to
- a teenager was little different than talking to a teenager (in English, that
- is) in a suburb of the U.S. The popular culture clearly reinforced the English
- instruction given in the schools.
