  13. We have been receiving a lot of requests from people who have email, but
  14. not ftp, gopher, veronica, WAIS, etc. . .so:

  18. Name; the Almanac Information Server, located at the Extension Service
  19. at Oregon State University, allows text retrieval both through ftp and
  20. email.  Works from To retrieve a file via ftp:

  22. ftp oes.orst.edu           (128.193.124.2)
  23. Log in as `anonymous' and your login name as a password.
  24. cd /pub/almanac/etext
  25. ls                         (to get a list of files)
  26. bin                        (to switch to binary mode)
  27. get filename               (where `filename' was one of the files listed)
  28. bye                        (when done)
