- If you don't hear from her directly or on Gov-Doc-L, you might want to
- contact Bev Norton, BYU, about her experiences. She made a presentation
- to the Mountain Plains Library Conference in Cheyenne, WY, in October,
- on BYU's tape load, saying that they did put all the records into one
- separate database first, and now are examining each record and trans-
- ferring them one by one. To quote her, "BIG MISTAKE!". It will take
- them quite a while to finish. You can get more details from her.
- She was here at ALA in Denver and is probably on her way home to Utah
- now. Like the rest of us, there will be many E-mail messages as
- well as everything else that has piled up, but I'm sure she would
- share her experiences with you. Good luck! We here on the Denver
- CARL system plan to profile for the records as best we can, then
- load them in and clean up later. There are 250,000 records for a
- full depository since 1976--that's a lot to examine individually.
