  17. If you don't hear from her directly or on Gov-Doc-L, you might want to
  18. contact Bev Norton, BYU, about her experiences.  She made a presentation
  19. to the Mountain Plains Library Conference in Cheyenne, WY, in October,
  20. on BYU's tape load, saying that they did put all the records into one
  21. separate database first, and now are examining each record and trans-
  22. ferring them one by one.  To quote her, "BIG MISTAKE!".  It will take
  23. them quite a while to finish.  You can get more details from her.
  24. She was here at ALA in Denver and is probably on her way home to Utah
  25. now.  Like the rest of us, there will be many E-mail messages as
  26. well as everything else that has piled up, but I'm sure she would
  27. share her experiences with you.  Good luck!  We here on the Denver
  28. CARL system plan to profile for the records as best we can, then
  29. load them in and clean up later.  There are 250,000 records for a
  30. full depository since 1976--that's a lot to examine individually.
