  18. UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO: TWO FACULTY POSITIONS OPEN

  20. LIBRARY INSTRUCTION COORDINATOR: Permanent twelve month, full-time
  21. position, tenure-track, assistant professor position responsible to
  22. the Head of Reference, Zimmerman Library.  Anticipated start date
  23. July 1, 1993.  Salary from $27,000 depending on experience.  Master's
  24. degree from an accredited ALA program; a degree in education,
  25. humanities or social sciences and two years of reference experience
  26. in an active library instruction program are required.  Strong
  27. written and verbal communication skills; working knowledge of Spanish
  28. or another foreign language and second master's degree in education,
  29. humanities or social sciences are preferred.  A strong commitment to
  30. public service and library instruction; ability to operate in an
  31. expanding electronic reference environment; experience in team-
  32. oriented work environment; management experience; experience in
  33. collection development.  Duties include coordinating the library
  34. instruction program in Zimmerman Reference, including enhancing the
  35. instruction program, overseeing production of information guides,
  36. scheduling and assigning instruction sessions, outreach activities,
  37. and participating in instruction activities.  Reference service,
  38. including night and weekend rotation, and searching electronic
  39. databases.  May do collection development and serve as library liaison
  40. to teach credit courses offered through the General Library.  The
  41. successful candidate will be expected to comply with the policies
  42. of the Faculty Handbook including meeting requirements in research,
  43. publication, and service to the profession and community.
