- This is a fairly common practice here at BSU. Since we do not have a
- "university press" per se, the textbooks are all from academic publishers. The
- faculty receives whatever royalty they have negotiated with their publishers.
- The university usually receives a cut of that royalty as well. The textbooks
- are sold through the bookstore just as any other text would be. Workbooks and
- other loose bound type material is usually locally produced by our print shop
- and is sold through the bookstore at cost.

- I don't really see this as being a conflict as most professors pick and choose
- from several textbooks anyway. If they can put everything they use into one of
- their own, it just saves the students some money when they only have to buy one
- book.
