  13. I am a former Vermonter, and former Vermont school board member.  (Actually,
  14. I'm not a former Vermonter -- you can't be one unless your grandparents and
  15. parents were -- overheard at school board meeting: "Just because the cat had
  16. her kittens in the oven doesn't make um muffins.")
  17.  
  18. Back to the point.  She is pro schooling -- supportive of raising money to
  19. support k-12, less supportive of higher ed, although well disposed.  She was
  20. willing a time or two to really go to the mats.

  22. She takes the time to inform herself about the issues, and appears to actually
  23. think about implications, etc. without just playing politics.
  24. Also important -- she has a sense of humor.
