- The University of Kansas Medical Center is accepting resumes for the
- new position of Assistant Director in the Office of Institutional
- Research and Planning. This position has key responsibilities for
- collection, organization, analysis, processing, and presentation of data
- to support the management of the Medical Center.

- Minimum qualifications: masters degree in social sciences or other
- analytical field; two or more years conducting institutional research
- for a college, university, or teaching hospital; four or more years
- experience in the application of quantitative techniques and research
- methods; ability to analyze, distill, and communicate information in
- numerical, graphic, and narrative forms; two or more years using either
- a microcomputer or mainframe computer to conduct analytical projects;
- ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and
- ability to supervise entry to middle level professional research
- analysts.

- Preferred qualifications: one or more years of experience as an
- assistant director of an Institutional Research or other analytical
- office in a higher education setting; two or more years of experience
- with university data books, institutional surveys, or enrollment
- analysis; and two or more years using analytical software such as SAS or
- FOCUS.

- Salary will be commensurate with education and qualifications. The
- University offers full benefits, but they do not include Jayhawk

- Eastern Connecticut State University serves 4,500 full and part-time
- students in a rural environment east of Hartford and midway between New

- Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Planning and
- Institutional Research is responsible for a number of functions
- including all planning and institutional research efforts, service as
- liaison for the President with units of University operation and
- external groups, and service as a representative of the Office of the
- President at various administrative and ceremonial functions. Major
- focus involves the planning and implementation of the collection and
- processing of data for the University's management information system
- as well as coordination, analysis, and information support to assist in
- strategic planning.

- The successful candidate must have a substantial record of
- accomplishment in conducting quantitative research projects, familiarity
- with the computer as an analytical tool, and understanding of current
- issues and trends in higher education, and an ability to organize and
- write clearly and concisely. Master's required, Doctorate preferred,
- with at least five years experience in higher education.
