  33.     The University of Kansas Medical Center is accepting resumes for the
  34. new position of Assistant Director in the Office of Institutional
  35. Research and Planning.  This position has key responsibilities for
  36. collection, organization, analysis, processing, and presentation of data
  37. to support the management of the Medical Center.
  38.  
  39.     Minimum qualifications: masters degree in social sciences or other
  40. analytical field; two or more years conducting institutional research
  41. for a college, university, or teaching hospital; four or more years
  42. experience in the application of quantitative techniques and research
  43. methods; ability to analyze, distill, and communicate information in
  44. numerical, graphic, and narrative forms; two or more years using either
  45. a microcomputer or mainframe computer to conduct analytical projects;
  46. ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and
  47. ability to supervise entry to middle level professional research
  48. analysts.

  50.     Preferred qualifications: one or more years of experience as an
  51. assistant director of an Institutional Research or other analytical
  52. office in a higher education setting; two or more years of experience
  53. with university data books, institutional surveys, or enrollment
  54. analysis; and two or more years using analytical software such as SAS or
  55. FOCUS.

  74.     Eastern Connecticut State University serves 4,500 full and part-time
  75. students in a  rural environment east of Hartford and midway between New
  76. York  City and Boston.  Excellent fringe benefits package available.

  79.     Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Planning and
  80. Institutional Research is responsible for a number of functions
  81. including all planning and institutional research efforts, service as
  82. liaison for the President with units of University  operation and
  83. external groups, and service as a representative of the Office of the
  84. President at various administrative and ceremonial functions.  Major
  85. focus involves the planning and implementation of the collection and
  86. processing of data for the University's management information system
  87. as well as coordination, analysis, and information support to assist in
  88. strategic planning.

  90.     The successful candidate must have a substantial record of
  91. accomplishment in conducting quantitative research projects, familiarity
  92. with the computer as an analytical tool, and understanding of current
  93. issues and trends in higher education, and an ability to organize and
  94. write clearly and concisely.   Master's required, Doctorate preferred,
  95. with at least five years experience in higher education.
