- Bill Clinton's selection of school is correct. Parents are
- responsible for their children's education and government is
- responsible to be service providers.
-
- The parent's responsiblity is to provide their child with the highest
- quality education, at the lowest cost. For many Americans, the
- educational choice is public education. Some Americans believe that
- public education is not of the quality they desire and "shop" for
- alternative service providers (i.e., private schools or home
- schooling). The point here is that parents are responsible to
- educate their children and that education should be of the highest
- quality that they can provide.
-
- The responsiblity of the government is to realize their roll in
- education. They are simply service providers, who compete against
- alternative service providers (mentioned above). From a business
- perspective the service providers goal is to provide the highest
- quality education, to the largest market share, at the lowest cost
- to the consumer. Those who believe that puclic educatoin is not
- what they desire for their children usually complain about the quality
- of the education provided. It might benifit the government to
- understand what are the quality characteristics of educatoin (I
- won't go into these; it's a completly different topic).
-
- The point I'm arguing for is that parents are responsible for their
- child's education and parents have the responsibility to choose
- the highest quality education affordable to them. A sub-point being
- argued is that government is mearly a service provider and they must
- learn to compete on a real basis with other service providers on
- a business level.
