- The message below is from Dan Wallace, marketing coordinator for
- Gallaudet University Press. It should answer Ms. Paris's question.

- Bob,
- Answers to questions about our new catalog:
- If she means the photo on the cover of the catalog,
- the artist oriented it that way, although it was taken
- from a reflection in a pond, which means that in fact the
- photo could have been taken from below the pond, and therefore
- is right side up, or from above, which means that it has been
- turned around by the photographer.
- My guess is that he took it from below the pond, with the real
- house at the top. Otherwise, he'd have to take the photo at
- an angle to keep his own reflection out of the photo.
- It is on the cover of the book, on the backside, though much
- smaller than on the catalog (about three times smaller).
- If she means the photo on the cover of the book, it's right
- side up -- the plant is growing up a plank of wood. Neither
- photo is in the interior of the book. For more information,
- the photographer (also a contributor to the book) is Willy
- Conley. The book has received excellent reviews, by the way
- from Publishers Weekly, Booklist, and Library Journal. In my
- own humble opinion, it's the best we've ever done.
